Let me set the scene.
We were at Goto Mall in Seoul — one of those underground shopping complexes that goes on forever. We’d been walking for a while and it was time for breakfast. Nothing fancy planned, just find something good and eat.
Near Gate 16, toward the back end of the mall, there’s a small restaurant that looks exactly like every other food court stall you’ve walked past your whole life. Bright lights. Laminated menu photos on the wall. Plastic trays.
We almost kept walking.
We didn’t. And I’m glad.

20,000 Won. One of the Best Things We’ve Eaten Here.
We ordered the seafood pancake — 해물파전 — for 20,000 won. That’s about $15. It came out golden, crispy on the edges, packed with seafood, and sized for two people to share comfortably.
The kind of dish that makes you stop mid-bite and just nod.

They cut it at the table with scissors — which is very normal in Korean dining and honestly one of my favorite little things about eating here. There’s something satisfying about it.
Don’t Judge a Meal by the Setting
That’s the thing about eating in Korea. The best food doesn’t always live in the prettiest room. Some of the most memorable bites we’ve had on this trip came from places that looked completely ordinary from the outside.
This one is a perfect example. No reservations. No line out the door. No influencer crowd. Just real food, real price, real good.

If You’re Visiting Goto Mall
Head to the back near Gate 16. Look for 인사동 칼국수 만두. Order the seafood pancake.
Sit down. Slow down. Eat well.
20,000 won. Worth every one.
